Plasma Spraying Plant and Spray Materials
All tungsten carbide coatings were applied with the large plasma spraying plant developed by Hantzsche and his colleagues,the conveying conditions being as constant as possible.
The substratum was sprayed as cool as possible applying water cooling from behind or compressed air.Surface temperatures of the coating measured after the application had been completed ranged from 80 to 100oC.
Tungsten oarbide was available as spray material in various modifications,makeds and with varying cobalt percantages as follows:
1.HVK 03+11%Co designated X56
2..HVK 05+0%Co
3.Cast Tungsten Carbide
4.WC +6%Co sintered
