Abstract：Zinc aluminum oxides ( AZO) targets were prepared with zinc oxide and aluminum oxide as reactants.Two kinds of organic adhesives，i. e. carboxymethylcellulose and poly ( vinyl alcohol) ，were employed in the process of densification of AZO targets. The experiments showed that carboxymethylcellulose had better adhesive than poly ( vinyl alcohol) for the AZO targets，and the densification results were satisfactory，as the relative density of AZO targets was as high as 99% .
