Abstract：This paper reviewed the failure forms and failure characteristics of the laser cladding Ni–based coatings on the repeated impact load. It reviewed three preparation methods of the laser cladding Ni–based coatings and research method in the lab. Based on the research progress in the failure of the coating at home and abroad, some research direction were put forward, such as Looking for methods of low energy resistance, with low energy loads repeated impact of coatings, and more advanced equipment experiment.
