Abstract:Thermal barrier coating (TBCs) is a kind of high temperature protection coating. TBCs has been one of the hot topics in the research area of coating due to its wide application. The present paper briefly reviewed the research status and developing trend of various TBCs systems both at home and abroad. The yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) ceramics is widely used in TBCs,however,the rare-earth zirconate and their oxides with pyrochlore structure can be explored as a novel prospective candidate material for use in TBCs.
