Abstract：The research progress of common materials on the oil and gas pipeline was summarized. The research results of macromolecular compound coating, glass coating, metal coating, corrosion inhibitor and cathodic protection were reviewed.The merits and demerits of different protection technologies were analyzed．The development trends of material selection and
protection technology on oil and gas pipeline were proposed.
