Abstract: The reason for scale on nickel－bearing steel being difficult to remove is analyzed． To weaken the formation of scale occlusal layer on nickel－bearing steel，the technique of " spraying high－temperature protection coating on steel billet" is adopted and then the scale removal effect improved． The obvious defects on steel surface such as pockmark and inclusion are eliminated，the fixing and grinding cost decreased，the delivery cycle shortened，the metal yield increased，the production cost of nickel － bearing steel decreased．
