ABSTRACT Face coating technology of hearth roller in continuous annealing furnace was widely used in industry． General making methods and base materials of hearth roller were introduced． Various thermal spray methods，coating materials and patents of hearth roller were elaborated particularly． This paper provides useful references for optimization and development of coating materials of hearth roller．
