Abstract：The significance of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) for advanced aeroengines was highlighted. Recent progress in TBCs processing techniques and ceramic materials investigation was reviewed in the world sphere.The prospect of TBCs for next generation aeroengines was also anticipated.
