Abstract:Selective laser sintering(SLS), integrated the technologies of laser, powder and computer-aided design became more and more mature in the past ten years. The SLS can be used to sinter metal and nonmetal powders directly into full densified and near-net shaped products. Because of having the merits of good flexibility, short production periods broad raw materials and so on, the SLS is now widely applied in many fields, such as automobile,shipbuilding, spaceflight and aviation industry, and is considered as the technology in advance position. The present paper overviews the principle, process and application in engineering of SLS, discusses the main factors affecting the SLS products quality.
