Abstract:Molybdenum coating were prepared by electro-thermal explosion spray on aluminum alloy and steel.Molybdenum coating properties were studied by SEM,scratch tester,microhardness tester,surface roughness tester and micro-wear machine.Through the method of orthogonal experimental design,the relationship of process parameters which affect the coating qualities are analyzed and the best process parameters are determined.
In this paper,the electric explosion spraying quality is controlled by spray voltage,spray distance and spray time.Orthogonal method is used in both tests and results.Also refer to the quality of the coating in different substrates,the electro-thermal explosion spraying process parameters and the combination of mechanisms are researched.
The results show that,molybdenum coating is uniform,continuous,compact and low porosity.Metallurgical bond is 4.9 times as the substrate,while the volume loss is only 11.5%,which will increase the aluminum alloy surface wear resistance.Among the process parameters which affect the coating quality and binding force,the distance of spray affects most,then is the times of spraying,the least is the spray voltage.
According to the reseach of the coating thickness variation,Molybdenum coating were prepared by a new testing programs for steel pipe.The coating is also uniform,continuous,compact and low porosity,and electro-thermal explosion spraying has little effecr on the matrix.
