Abstract：Analyzing the necessities of using thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) on aero -engine turbine blades was carried out. The applications of TBCs on aero-engine turbine blades abroad and the demotic development were introduced. The advantages and disadvantages of the two main methods of building TBCs by Plasma Spraying (PS) and Electron Beam Physical Vapor Deposition were compared. Finally the application prospect of TBCs is presented.
