Process optimization of plasma spraying Ni-based alloy coating

  Abstract: Ni60B alloyed coating was directly prepared on the GCr15 steel substrate by using plasma spraying process. The effect of spraying parameters bonding strength of the coating layer was analyzed by means of the orthogonal experiment method. The order in sequence is the plasma power,the powder feed rate,the main gas flow and the spraying distance. The highest bonding strength up to 59. 311 MPa is obtained at the conditions of the plasma power of 30 kW,the powder feed rate of 30 g · min- 1,the main gas flow of 75 L·min- 1 and the spraying distance of 105 mm. The phase analysis result shows that the phase attribution of the coating powder has not changed significantly,keeping the original properties. SEM observation shows that optimized coating layer is more dense,and its quality is obviously improved.
