Abstract Coating technology is a focus in composite materials research.The existing coating technology is summerized, and a new technology on the base of explosive working technology is put forward, that is to say,explosive compact-coating. Explosive compact-coating uses high pressure of explosion to drive metal plate to impact metal powders, meanwhile makes metal powders firmly adhere on surface of metal plate. For explosive compact-coating, the principle and implementation method are described in detail, and its advantages and disadvantages are analyzed, and its research direction and application foreground are prospected.
