Abstract:The titanium electrode was coated with SnO2using thermal decomposition method and the microstructures and physical properties of the SnO2coatings doped with other elements were characterized using various techniques. It was found that the nano-structured SnO2coating with a rutile crystal structure could be prepared on the titanium substrate using the present preparation method. The electrochemical capability of the SnO2electrode coating prepared at a temperature of 500oC could be significantly en-hanced by addition of Ru and Co elements. The SnO2coatings containing Ru and Co ele-ments were better densified and had a good adhesion with the substrate and the resulting electrode exhibited a good electrochemistry capability.
